During National Principals Month, We Are Hoke proudly thanks Angel Baker, principal of Rockfish Hoke Elementary School, for her service to education and her commitment to the students, staff, and families of the Ravens community.
A Hoke County High School graduate, Baker has built a career serving the community where she attended school. Her professional milestones include serving as an academic coach and assistant principal at Rockfish Hoke Elementary, followed by two years as principal of Upchurch Elementary. Her return to Rockfish as principal for the 2026–2027 school year marks another meaningful step in her educational leadership journey.
At Rockfish, Baker’s stated priorities include creating a safe, supportive learning environment where children can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. She emphasizes strong relationships, high expectations, and open communication, encouraging families to share questions, ideas, and concerns as partners in their children’s education.
Her experience as an academic coach, assistant principal, and principal brings several perspectives to the responsibility of leading a school. In her welcome message, Baker encourages families to stay connected through school events, classroom communication, and direct conversations, reinforcing her belief that student success depends on educators, caregivers, and the community working together.
National Principals Month offers an opportunity to recognize the planning, problem-solving, and daily care that school leadership requires.
Principal Baker, thank you for your service to Rockfish Hoke Elementary and for making students and family partnerships central to your vision. We Are Hoke celebrates you and your work on behalf of the Ravens!
