During National Principals Month, We Are Hoke proudly recognizes Colleen Pegram-Wike, principal of Hoke County High School, and thanks her for her service to the students, educators, and families of the Bucks community.
Pegram-Wike’s leadership has received recognition beyond the school campus. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction’s 2025 Wells Fargo Principal of the Year program lists her among the district honorees representing the Sandhills region, an important professional accomplishment celebrating school leadership.
This school year also marks a historic milestone for the community she leads. In August 2026, Hoke County High School welcomed students into a completely new school building, replacing modular classrooms with spaces designed for collaboration and learning. As principal during this transition, Pegram-Wike expressed confidence in students’ futures, emphasizing that their ZIP code does not determine what they can achieve.
Her responsibilities include leading the administrative team and overseeing areas connected to Sandhills Community College and College and Career Promise. These partnerships support opportunities for students to connect their high school education with future college and career goals.
At Hoke County High, the school’s mission emphasizes a safe, collaborative, and supportive learning environment. Guiding that work requires attention to academics, staff support, student needs, and the daily decisions that keep a large school moving forward.
Principal Pegram-Wike, thank you for your leadership and service to Hoke County High School. We Are Hoke celebrates your accomplishments and appreciates your commitment to helping the Bucks prepare for their futures!
