During National Principals Month, We Are Hoke proudly recognizes Dr. Stephanie McGirt, principal of East Hoke Middle School, and thanks her for serving the students, educators, and families of the Eagles community.
McGirt brings classroom and administrative experience to her leadership role. Before becoming East Hoke Middle’s principal for the 2026–2027 school year, she served two years as assistant principal at SandHoke Early College High School, supporting student achievement, school improvement, and daily operations. She previously taught at both SandHoke and West Hoke Middle School.
Among her accomplishments, McGirt was named Hoke County Schools Assistant Principal of the Year and completed the Assistant Principal Accelerator program through the North Carolina Principals and Assistant Principals’ Association. These milestones highlight her professional development and the recognition she has earned during her educational career.
At East Hoke Middle School, she leads a community whose mission centers on providing a safe environment where students can thrive academically and socially. The school’s vision emphasizes addressing different learning needs, closing achievement gaps, and preparing students for college and careers, providing a meaningful foundation for her work with staff and families.
Middle school leadership requires thoughtful decisions, collaboration, and daily attention to students during an important period of growth. From supporting instruction to guiding school operations, a principal’s responsibilities reach far beyond the office.
Dr. McGirt, thank you for bringing your experience and leadership to East Hoke Middle School. We Are Hoke celebrates your accomplishments and appreciates your service to the Eagles community!
