During National Principals Month, We Are Hoke proudly recognizes Sherika Atkinson, principal of West Hoke Elementary School, and thanks her for her service to the students, educators, and families of the Dolphins community.
Atkinson’s professional milestones include serving as principal of Rockfish Hoke Elementary before leading West Hoke Elementary. Her experience guiding two Hoke County school communities is a meaningful part of her educational leadership career.
In her published welcome message, Atkinson emphasizes excellence, personal growth, and working together to address challenges while celebrating achievements. She expresses a commitment to building a learning community where every student has an opportunity to thrive, welcoming both returning and new families into that shared effort.
At West Hoke, she leads a school whose vision focuses on educating the whole child through rigorous, equitable, and innovative instruction. That vision recognizes students’ academic, emotional, social, and physical needs, providing an important foundation for the work of Atkinson and her team.
A principal’s service involves supporting teachers, guiding daily operations, communicating with families, and keeping student needs central to school decisions. National Principals Month offers an opportunity to appreciate those responsibilities and recognize the leadership our elementary schools require.
Principal Atkinson, thank you for your service to West Hoke Elementary and the Hoke County community. We Are Hoke celebrates your leadership and appreciates your work on behalf of the Dolphins!
