During National Principals Month, We Are Hoke proudly recognizes Heather Brower, principal of Sandy Grove Elementary School, and thanks her for serving the students, staff, and families of the Bobcats community. Leading an elementary school brings tremendous responsibility, and this month offers an opportunity to appreciate the work that happens both in classrooms and behind the scenes.
Brower’s professional milestones include serving as principal of Hawk Eye Elementary before leading Sandy Grove Elementary. A Hoke Soil and Water Conservation District report from 2022–2023 pictures her alongside Hawk Eye students recognized in its conservation education competition, providing a documented example of her involvement in celebrating student achievement.
At Sandy Grove, she leads a school whose vision emphasizes high expectations for every learner, family and community involvement, and preparing children to make a positive contribution to the world. The school also shares a Parent and Family Engagement Plan that outlines opportunities for families to participate in their children’s school community. These priorities provide an important foundation for the work of Brower and her team.
A principal’s responsibilities include supporting teachers, guiding school operations, responding to student needs, and helping families navigate their children’s education. Each part of that work matters because a successful school depends on people working together with children’s growth at the center.
Principal Brower, thank you for your service to Sandy Grove Elementary and the Hoke County community. We Are Hoke celebrates your leadership and appreciates the responsibility you carry on behalf of the Bobcats!
