When I was invited to create the official pageant for the We Are One Hoke County Initiative and the America 250 NC Celebration, my vision was simple: to create an experience that celebrated every generation while building confidence, leadership, and pride in our community.
The inaugural We Are One Unity Crown Pageant, presented by Miss Carolina Royalty, welcomed contestants from toddlers to
seniors, proving that confidence has no age limit and leadership begins with a willing heart. Rather than focusing solely on beauty, the competition highlighted character, communication, service, and the unique gifts each contestant brings to the community.
Throughout the competition, participants showcased their confidence in interview, patriotic wear, and formal wear while developing skills in public speaking, stage presence, etiquette, and personal growth. Every contestant walked away with something far greater than a crown-they gained encouragement, friendships, and the confidence to believe in themselves.
The pageant was proudly held in partnership with the We Are One Hoke County Initiative as part of the county’s America 250 celebration, bringing together families, local leaders, businesses, volunteers, and community organizations to celebrate the rich history and promising future of Hoke County. It was a beautiful reminder that when we invest in our youth and celebrate our citizens, we strengthen the fabric of our community.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the Unity Crown Pageant was watching contestants of every background, culture, and generation cheer one another on. The stage became more than a competition-it became a place where confidence was discovered, friendships were formed, and dreams were encouraged.
As Executive Director of Miss Carolina Royalty, I believe pageantry should be about purpose before prestige. A crown is not simply a symbol of achievement; it is a commitment to serve. Our titleholders are encouraged to represent Hoke County with integrity, compassion, professionalism, and a genuine heart for community service.
The success of the inaugural We Are One Unity Crown Pageant has laid the foundation for what we believe will become a lasting tradition in Hoke County. With the support of community partners, county leaders, volunteers, and families, we look forward to expanding opportunities that inspire leadership, celebrate diversity, and empower future generations.
The Unity Crown represents far more than royalty; it represents service, confidence, excellence, and the belief that every individual has the power to make a meaningful difference. Together, we are building leaders, strengthening community, and proving that when Hoke County comes together as one, everyone shines.
