Hoke County finished the 2026 football season with a 5–6 overall record, including a 3–2 mark in the Mid-South 7A/8A Conference. Those numbers tell part of the story, while the memorable victories, narrow finishes and excitement surrounding Friday night football help explain why this Bucks team deserves recognition.
One of the most exciting stretches of Hoke County’s season came in October, when the Bucks put together three consecutive conference victories. The run began with a 57–44 homecoming win over Overhills on October 2, giving the home crowd a high-scoring celebration and opening conference play with an important victory.
The following week, Hoke County traveled to Pine Forest and earned a 20–9 win, following its offensive outburst against Overhills with a game in which the opponent finished in single digits. The Bucks then added a memorable 24–21 road victory over Richmond on October 16, completing a three-week stretch that showcased their ability to win in different ways.
Earlier victories also mattered, including a 28–23 win at South View and a 25–24 decision over Seventy-First. Together, those results gave Hoke County five wins and a collection of moments worth remembering when players and supporters look back on the year.
The Bucks also experienced the difficult side of close competition, falling 27–26 to Forest Hills in overtime and closing the regular season with consecutive 33–30 overtime losses to Pinecrest and Jack Britt. With those three defeats decided by a combined seven points, the season included several games in which the difference between celebration and disappointment was especially small.
At We Are Hoke, we are proud of the season the Bucks have had and grateful for the memories they created for our community. We congratulate the players and coaches on their victories and playoff appearance, and we recognize the commitment that goes into representing Hoke County High School throughout a demanding football season.
Our appreciation also extends to the families, cheerleaders, band members, school staff and supporters who help make high school football such an important part of community life. Their encouragement gives these young athletes a hometown behind them, through the biggest celebrations and the toughest endings.
To the seniors, thank you for the time, effort and school pride you have invested in the Bucks football program, and to the returning players, we look forward to seeing how you build on this season’s experiences. From homecoming excitement to hard-earned road wins and a trip to the state playoffs, the 2026 Hoke County Bucks gave their community moments to treasure, and We Are Hoke is proud to celebrate them.
